What is the Golden Visa And Who Qualifies for It?

The UAE Golden Visa allows the applicant to conduct business, work, study and live in the UAE. It gives an entry visa for six months which can be renewed overtime with multiple entries and exceeds to a five or ten year visa. Through this visa, the applicant does not require a sponsor and can also stay outside the UAE for more than six months to maintain the validity of the Golden Visa.

The UAE Golden Visa offers long-term residency to all those who have the resources to invest in the UAE. Investors should have no less than AED 10 million worth of public investment in an investment fund or property.

Processing Time

The UAE Golden Visa Processing time is very short and is about 48 hours once all of the required documents are submitted. If the individual applies for a nomination then the visa will be provided within two-months’ time.

Golden Visa Process

a) Requires a foreign national to invest a minimum of 2 million AED:

- In an investment fund in the UAE, or
- Purchase a property in the UAE or an off-plan deal

b) Important documentation is required in order to conduct consular legalisation.

c) Applicants will receive a 6-month entry visa for the UAE to purchase a property, pass a medical check-up and apply for a golden visa.

d) Spouses, children and helpers can also be sponsored for the Golden Visa by the business immigrant and the visa is typically issued within 2 months.

Investors in Public Investment:

A 10-year visa is granted to the investor investing in a business fund without the requirement of a sponsor. a) A letter stating that the applicant has invested AED 2 million has to be submitted from an accredited fund in the UAE. b) A memorandum stating that the investor’s investment is not less than AED 2 million along with an industrial or commercial licence is required. c) A Federal Tax Authority letter stating that the investor pays AED 250,000 annually is also required.

In addition to the above, the applicant must own all the capital investment and must also provide proof of individual and family medical insurance.

Real Estate Investors:

Investors who own property in the UAE may be granted a Golden Visa for a five-year period which will be renewable under the conditions of no sponsorship requirement.

a) A letter from the land department of the respective emirate is required, stating the investor’s ownership of property which should not be less than AED 2 million.
